COME AUDITION!
Auditions for Fall 2022 will be on September 13th & 15th! This page has all the information you need to audition for Minor Detail! Any links have been updated to suit our special audition process for this semester.
The steps below will be the audition process. Please follow them carefully. Email minordetailacappella@gmail.com with any questions you have and don't forget to follow us on social media!
STEP I
SIGN UPÂ TO AUDITION FOR ANY GROUP YOU WANT
This year, the a cappella community has decided that potential new members can audition for any number of groups that they wish. This is different than in years past, so if you're at all confused by this process, please email us. We're here to help, and want to make this experience as easy and exciting for you as it is for us!
STEP II
SIGN UP FOR AN AUDITION TIME

Auditions will be from 7pm-9pm on both Tuesday, September 13th (SUB 3203) and Thursday, September 15th (OP 2115)
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the sign-up time you chose for your audition.
We will come get you when we are ready for you.
STEP III
FILL OUT AN AUDITION FORM

To avoid any possible contagions, make a copy of our Audition Form and email us your responses to minordetailacappella@gmail.com!
We'll look it over before your scheduled audition time.
STEP IV
PREPARE FOR YOUR AUDITION
For your audition, you need to prepare:

1) A BRIEF A CAPPELLA SOLO
You will be asked to sing an a cappella solo of your choosing. This solo should be approximately 30 seconds - 1 minute long (one verse and one chorus would be perfect). Pick a song that you love to sing and shows off your vocal skills and stage presence, but keep in mind that we typically perform pop songs in the group. Show us how you're unique! BE BRAVE! We are looking for vocalists and performers. So stage presence matters!

2) BRUSH UP ON YOUR SIGHT READING SKILLS
You will be asked to sight read a brief excerpt given at the time of your audition. This is just to see how well you can read music, as we do read off of physical copies of music during practices. Don't let this scare you!

STEP V
AUDITION!
Please arrive 10 min early on the day of your audition. Bring a water bottle if you need it.
